One of the most important Chinese photographers and a pioneer of photography in China, Lang Jingshan / Lang Ching-Shan 郎静山 (1892-1995) combines photography and painting in his images which resemble Chinese landscape paintings. His photographic shanshui were created through the use of photomontage.
